I find most issues are best worked with psychologically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, so I offer my therapies in combination according to the need of the client. You will choose what therapies you prefer. I am happy to work face-to-face, online or on the phone. I offer an initial 20 minute chat for free, either on the phone or online.
‘Since therapy, I have, with Linda’s invaluable help understood how to save myself. She has taught me methods to use to understand about negative feelings and their impact. I can use those to great effect.’
Information about you and what we talk about is confidential. I would not disclose anything unless I have concerns about your or another’s safety.
Record Keeping & Security
I do not collect any personal information (for instance your email address) via this website. However, should you become a client, I do keep some personal records. Here is my statement about the data that I keep in this instance: I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) which means I need to tell you what data I am collecting from you and what I intend to do with it. What data do I keep and why do I need it?
- Name and age – this is basic information that helps me get to know you
- Address, email address, phone number – I use this as a way of contacting you regarding your sessions. I will mainly use the method you first contacted me on but if I cannot reach you, I will try a different method.
- Next of kin/Doctor’s details – If I was worried that you were at risk then I may need to contact your next of kin or Doctor. If I can, I will tell you I am going to do this.
- Session notes – I keep very brief notes of our session. These are handwritten and kept in a locked cupboard/filing cabinet always. Disclosure of these records is unlikely, except in any possible legal case of yours, where disclosure is mandated by the court.
Will I share your data and if I do, who will I share it with and for what purpose? It is very unlikely that I will share your data. I will not sell it or use if for unethical reasons. I may have to share it if my notes are subpoenaed by court, or, if you, or anyone you tell me about, is harmed or at risk of harm, including yourself. I also have regular supervision where I talk about my work, but I only use your first name. How will I store your data? All data is handwritten and stored in a locked filing cabinet or cupboard. Your email address may be stored in my email system and will be deleted one month after we cease working together. Only I will access your information and all paper records will be deleted after 5 years (I need to keep them this long in case subpoenaed by a court).
Please give as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend an appointment. If you give less than 48 hours notice you will be charged for the appointment. If I have to cancel your appointment I will endeavour to give at least 48 hours notice.
When & Where
I can see clients or work on the phone weekday daytime or evenings. My practice is in Ashford, Kent. I also work internationally and nationally via Zoom.
Number of Sessions / Ending Therapy
Therapy can be an open ended process or we can agree the number of sessions in advance. When therapy is open-ended it is important that ending is not sudden so we will regularly review progress to help determine the duration of our work together.
I hold both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
Should you wish to make a complaint about the service you have been offered please contact my professional body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
