Welcome to the World of

‘Born Lonely’

Born Lonely is a deeply personal and honest account of trauma, survival, healing and hope. Drawing on both lived experience and years of therapeutic practice, Linda Bishopp explores how childhood experiences can shape our relationships, our sense of self and our emotional wellbeing long into adulthood.

Through powerful reflections and professional insight, Linda shares her journey from loneliness and trauma towards understanding, recovery and connection. More than a memoir, Born Lonely is an invitation to recognise that healing is possible, that our past does not have to define our future, and that it is never too late to begin again.

Whether you have experienced trauma yourself, support someone who has, or simply want to understand the lasting impact of our earliest experiences, Born Lonely offers compassion, hope and the reassurance that even the deepest wounds can begin to heal.

Meet Linda

Linda Bishopp is a therapist, speaker, and advocate for trauma awareness and recovery. Drawing on both personal experience and professional expertise, she is passionate about helping people understand the impact of trauma and find pathways towards healing, resilience, self-compassion, and deeper connection.

In Born Lonely, Linda shares her own journey through trauma, recovery, and personal transformation, alongside insights gained from years of supporting others. Her work is informed by trauma-informed practice, Jungian psychology, and a deep appreciation of spirituality as an important part of the human search for meaning and wholeness.

Through her writing, speaking, and therapeutic work, Linda seeks to reduce stigma, increase understanding of trauma, and help people feel less alone. She believes that healing is possible, that our wounds need not define us, and that within our struggles often lie the seeds of growth, connection, and transformation.

*What Readers

Are Saying

‘I really enjoyed reading your story, the wisdom you’ve gathered along your journey, and the supportive, compassionate way you’ve shared it.
I worked through some of the exercises, particularly those relating to the abuse I experienced, and I found them incredibly helpful. I wrote to my younger self, which I’ve done before, but this time it felt different. Maybe my younger self didn’t close the door on me this time, or perhaps the older me was finally more ready to listen.
I’ve also started having conversations with my harsh inner critic. There’s still more work to do there, but your book has definitely helped me begin that process.
I think the fact that I’ve continued doing more inner work and feel I’ve made further progress is a testament to how valuable your book has been for me. There are definitely sections I’ll go back to and read again more slowly, because there’s so much depth in it. It reminded me that sometimes we don’t necessarily need to learn something completely new—we just need to be reminded of truths we’re finally ready to hear. I think your book does that beautifully.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and meaningful book. I’m so glad I read it, and I know I’ll return to it again as there are sections I want to cover in more detail.’
